I love it, the way it begins when he was seventeen just starting out making demos through the years up into the mid 90's. It was interesting hearing how his voice matures along the way. There are tunes in the set that I have never heard before, as they were demo's that were never released. I really liked hearing his home recording, singing with his young daughters to Beautiful Noise. The booklet that comes with it is great too, he tells something about each of the 71 songs, and the many, many pictures are wonderful.

I have been a Neil Diamond fan for quite some time, and the album "In My Lifetime" is a compendium of the best Neil Diamond songs. I listen to the entire set at least once a week.
Great Medley of Neil DiamondAug 07, 2009
This is a great collection of Niel's greatest hits. It follows his incredible talent from his first appearance on the scene until 1996. Almost all songs are from albums, not live appearances. The commentary that Neil gives for each song really is interesting and adds to the understanding of how the song came to be. Most poignant is the original taping that Neil had with his young daughters as he was writing "Its a beautiful Noise" followed by the released recording. All Neil Diamond fans should find the gathering of over 70 Diamond songs in this collection well worth the price.

Great Music - Disc Problem?Apr 10, 2009
Just a quick question to others who have this: On the first two tracks of Disc One I can hear a clicking sound. It lasts for about 5 seconds or so then goes away. Is that part of the recording or could it be a disc issue? If anyone knows I would be grateful for a reply. Thanks.
