Good For Cupcakes TooMar 16, 2010 I purchased the large (aprox 3 Tbsp) and the small (aprox 2 tsp) scoops a couple weeks ago. I make a lot of cupcakes, and these have completely changed my baking. I use the large one for regular size cupcakes and the small for minis. Depending on the batter, I use slightly more or less than a full scoop, but it is so easy to portion out and scoop the batter into the muffin tins. Plus, it's much faster, easier, and cleaner than my old way of using a measuring cup or a pastry bag. For liquidy batters, it's a little more difficult, but it's still better than any of my old methods.
This will help me create evenly sized cookies too. Evenly sized baked goods (cupcakes or cookies) will cook evenly in the oven, meaning everything will be done at the same time. No more will I have some overdone and some underdone. I can't believe I didn't purchase these long ago.
Little helper, Big resultsMar 08, 2010 I have arthritis in my hands and a son who loves cookies. Not always a good combo! I looked at the Oxo cookie scoops for a long time, but kept thinking that it was too pricey. NOT SO! I wish I had purchased it as soon as I first saw it because it has made cookie making a breeze for me. The scoop handles are easy to grip and they release the dough easily. The right amount each time! Because the cookies are the same size, they cook more evenly and so I don't have those crispy edges with doughy centers anymore.
If you have been wondering if these Oxo scoops are a good value, rest assured that they are. I am planning to purchase the larger sizes as well.
well-made!Mar 07, 2010 Solid as they come. Kind of unusual in this day and age. The kind of kitchen utensil you don't want to have to replace. Im happy with it!
Cookies Have Never Been So Easy!Feb 23, 2010 I LOVE this item! I don't bake often, as I get too easily addicted to that little sweet treat after dinner, but every now and then I get the urge to bake. Cookies, however, are something I rarely make, even though I have an outstanding gingersnap recipe. I have always found the "making balls the size of walnuts" tedious and boring. When I saw this, it looked like just the perfect item, and it is!! I can now scoop up the dough so quickly and easily, that I find myself making gingersnaps much more often. Plus they come out as even in size as purchased cookies. I can't say enough about how wonderful this item is, even my husband has started using it for his chocolate chip cookies.
Great ProductFeb 21, 2010 I bought this for my Mother. She bakes cookies all the time. She loves it!
