British artist Jones takes center stage in this 50-project compilation of all things paper, from decoupage and origami to stamping and stenciling. Projects include more than the expected instructions, featuring step-by-step photographic explanations and the like. So, a scented baby mobile is not only described pictorially and verbally but also refined by the insistence on using lavender oil. Items celebrate the middle-of-the-road gifts, such as baby cards, holiday baskets, scrapbooks, trays, coasters, and more. Still other information, in crafter's tips, promotes such practical activities as purchasing an expensive tool as a team--then sharing it. And levels of difficulty, time needed, and primary technique for each project make sure that every crafter's a winner. Barbara Jacobs

LameSep 28, 2009 I expect more from Reader's Digest Books. Their garden book on color was fantastic. This one is not. It's not horrible--well, I don't know that for sure, because I didn't do any of the projects, so I don't know if the instructions were adequate, which is the touchstone for craft books, so it might well be horrible--but the projects are lame--nothing you haven't seen a million times already, examples that aren't really that attractive, and photos that are very ho-hum. Do not waste your money.
