I think Rod does a great job on the first CD. The second and third, although still great to listen to, lack the subtle charm of the first. It's almost like he had a deeper enthusiasm for the first. Still in all, great listening.

I got this collection for my husband for Christmas, and we both love it. While not fans of some of Stewart's earlier work, we truly think this is one of the best produced albums we have ever enjoyed. We both like the old standards, and this group of songs really suits our taste. The extremely well-performed selections are very relaxing and delightful, and I highly recommend this set.

This CD set is amazing. When I got it, I thought that my boyfriend would think it was sappy, but he ended up playing the CD's continuous while working in the garage. I am a hyper romantic so I love all of these great old songs and Rod does a masterful job. As someone else said though, I could do without the duet "Baby it's cold outside" with Dolly Parton. She sounds skrechy and like an old woman. Everyone who hears the CD set loves it--of all ages.

I always put music on my terrific Bose radio before I go to sleep. In the past I'd listen to carley simon, michael buble, frank and many others so I could go to sleep. Ever since I received rod stewart's great american songbook ( all 4 cd's) I' ve never made past three songs before I drift off. Fantastic version of some great old chestnuts. thank you Rod Sterwart. eric chase

I never was a fan of Rod Stewart until this series. Didn't care for the DVD at all, but the CDs are incredible. He actually pulls off this genre` perfectly. Ordered a set for my Dad's 90th birthday.
