The Great American Songbook Collection (4CD/DVD)Jul 22, 2010 The seller shipped very fast the item was even better than I expected. I think this is the very best of Rod Stewart today! If you don't have it, buy it..it is fantastic...I listen to it every night while I sleep...very soothing music...
Great stuffApr 19, 2010 Rod Stewart really had a good idea to record all these songs ! I'm so glad that I heard one of these CDs in the bar of an hotel I was staying at in Portugal last winter... I was a fan of Rod Stewart when I was younger but I didn't know he has recorded jazz songs from the past ! I'm fan again !!
best work for rocker rodApr 11, 2010 the songbook collections are amazing. although they were songs before my time somehow rod (and his various featured duet artists) make these songs current and extremely enjoyable!
Rod Sings AmericanFeb 22, 2010 I think Rod does a great job on the first CD. The second and third, although still great to listen to, lack the subtle charm of the first. It's almost like he had a deeper enthusiasm for the first. Still in all, great listening.
Rod Stewart's American SongbookFeb 01, 2010 I got this collection for my husband for Christmas, and we both love it. While not fans of some of Stewart's earlier work, we truly think this is one of the best produced albums we have ever enjoyed. We both like the old standards, and this group of songs really suits our taste. The extremely well-performed selections are very relaxing and delightful, and I highly recommend this set.
