Great projects, perfect level of detail, good photographySep 15, 2009 This is a truly excellent book filled with practical yet interesting woodworking project that will enhance your home and deliver real usability benefits. The book strikes a perfect balance between being instructional to the novice and useful for the experienced project enthusiast. There are no cute by useless, baby projects here. No pen holders. Instead there are shelves and storage systems both simple and surprisingly detailed. The diagrams and cutlists are unmatched by any book I've seen. Using color and exploded images to explain how the pieces fit together, the book is extremely successful at explaining to the novice the technique behind joinery and assembly that readers will benefit from when it comes to designing their own projects even if they don't want to build a specific project in the book. First rate.

A project in here for every skill levelDec 05, 2007
I have had this book for a little over a year now, and I have a feeling that I will keep this book for many more to come. When I first opened this book up I was really impressed with the look of the majority of the projects. The directions are very easy to follow. Overall I think this is the best book I have picked up on this subject. As a subscirber to Family Handyman magazine this left me just as impressed as the magazine does.

Make your own furniture!Mar 07, 2006 This book is fabulous for those who are into making their own furniture.. it has some quite good tutorials of how to make your own cupboards, closets and shelving systems..
Its more about 'practicallity' rather than creative ideas..
I just think the title is misleading as I was hoping to find some new ideas for a walk-in closet..
