Quick Overview

The Innocent by David Baldacci
One of David Baldacci's best ever, a classic roller coaster ride mixing a US government assassin, a precocious teenage girl on the run, and a sinister plot with twists and turns that never stop. Examiner.com called it "Baldacci at his absolute best."

Beach Colors by Shelley Noble
Shelley Noble is the pseudonym of mystery author Shelley Freydont, penning her first women's fiction novel, and joining the volume as the sole newcomer to the series. I'm always a sucker for beach-house novels, and in this one, our heroine finds herself on her own after her stinker husband runs off with everything in their bank account. She returns to her home town on the Connecticut coast to rebuild her life in a book filled both with fun and emotional depth, and ultimately, the right romance.

The Third Gate by Lincoln Child
We haven't used Lincoln Child since his collaboration with Douglas Preston on Thunderhead back in 1999. He's got a corker this time, just right for SE readers looking for a little excitement. It's an unabashed adventure story, with wealthy treasure hunters, cutting edge scientists, and an Egyptian tomb with a deadly curse. At the center is an "enigmatologist," who deals with ghosts and psychic happenings, who ties it all together. It's reading for the edge of one's seat, set at the bottom of the Nile.

Calling Invisible Women by Jeanne Ray
Beginning in 2000, Jeanne Ray began a string of hits including Julie and Romeo and Eat Cake that our readers absolutely loved. After a break of almost seven years she's back with a new book that is, well, unique, but still marked by the humor and insight of her previous works. The thing is, one morning Clover wakes up to find, first, that she is invisible, and second, that no one notices. Then she discovers that there are other women, also of a certain age, who are suffering the same phenomenon.
